Faux Bois at The Huntington

Synopsis

This film depicts the story of taking something beautiful and broken and making it whole again. With deep knowledge of the subject and his ability to reverse engineer, sculptor Terence Eagan explains and demonstrates the techniques he developed while teaching himself the intricacies, nuances and structural requirements for rebuilding the 100, 100 year-old concrete trees that are the Rose Garden arbors at the Huntington. I was hired by the Huntington to direct and produce this info-documentary style film to bring Terry’s process to life in an entertaining and informative way. This film also becomes part of the Huntington’s institutional history that would not have been documented otherwise.
