The film highlights key moments since the March 2020 lockdown, including the civil unrest sparked by the killing of George Floyd, virtual education, mandatory quarantine, the health care crisis, the Myanmar coup and the vaccination rollout.

The 14-minute film introduces several teenagers who speak eloquently about their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is composed of several video confessions, mainstream news reports and amateur video footage. A poignant documentary that showcases some extraordinary teens and their struggles under coronavirus conditions. The film features, but not limited to, Georgia Fritsch, Anthony Xiong, Matiana Hernandez, Dah Boe Ra, Kayla Thornton and Esther Carriere.

COVID: The Teen Experience
‘COVID-19: The Teen Experience’ primarily focuses on teenagers from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and showcases their bold response to the George Floyd killing and the subsidence protests. The film also brings attention to a 2nd generation Burmese-American, who was encouraged to learn about her origin as a result of the Myanmar coup of February 2021. Despite having a low production value, due to be filmed on smartphones, the documentary doesn’t fault in getting its message across. A fascinating insight of a teenage perspective. Highly recommended.
