Synopsis

Akila, a prominent photographer has an exhibit deadline quickly approaching. While alone at a restaurant she gets a call from her agent, Abel, who tells her that the anonymous famous painter VIO has requested that she reveal his identity through her photography. Akila is wary of VIO’s reputation, but he convinces her to accept this career-changing opportunity.

Written and directed by Daniel Lawrence Wilson, ‘A Brush of Violence’ is a short thriller film that explores the troubled mind of a prolific painter. Mia Krystyna leads the cast as Akila, a renowned photographer who has been tasked by the painter Vio (Yavor Vesselinov) to expose his closely guarded identity. Unbeknownst to Akila, Vio has a creative agenda that will change both their lives forever. The film delves into themes of mental health, art, society and psychology. A riveting watch with a sinister twist.

The 39-minute film opens with Akila arriving at Vio’s luxury estate. Despite a frosty introduction, Akila remains honored by the invitation. The narrative unravels Vio’s disturbed mindset, which is showcased through his controversial art work. Throughout the short, Akila attempts to figure out why he chose her. Without revealing the narrative twist, the audience can expect startling viewing that divulges Vio’s neurotic psychology.
