What was the inspiration behind making this short film?
Michael McQuary came into my studio one day and off thee top of his head performed a monologue about the people in the room. As we talked he told me his story and started doing different voices and drawings. I was moved by his story and talked to him about doing a short film on his work.
Was there any particular challenges you had to go through to make the short film happen?
My biggest biggest challenge was writing the film as Michael has so many facets to his acting. I wanted to show all his skill but we didn’t at the time have the funds to make that type of film.
How has the short film been received?
The film has had a great festival run and has won a couple of awards including An Award 0f Recognition in “The Best Shorts Competition.”
Do you have any other projects in the pipeline?
Yes I am currently working on two films. One about the COVID-19 pandemic and another entitled ‘Chasing Destiny; which is a documentary about a lady who overcomes obstacles to start a business during the height of the pandemic.
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to make their first short film?
My best advice is to surround yourself with a good team. A good team will keep you motivated.
