Director/Writer/Producer of

Makesha Williamson

What was the inspiration behind making this short film?

An actual real life event that occurred.

Was there any particular challenges you had to go through to make the short film happen?

Yes Indeed. When working on an independent film and collaborating with people who quit on you before the project is finish, it is extremely frustrating.. I eventually had to complete the editing for the project myself.

How has the short film been received?

Everyone who watched the film enjoyed the story. They wanted to see more. But, the outcome of the story is still in limbo..

Do you have any other projects in the pipeline?

I am currently working on completing my TV Pilot, ‘Hagism’ and I currently have 40 shorts, features and pilots that I have written the treatment and that are in pre-development.

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to make their first short film?

Don’t give up! Complete your project. Have understudies. For your actors, for your back up crew. Never pick just 1 person. A lot of people are only doing it for instant gratification. They don’t understand this is a lifetime commitment. Surround yourself with likeminded individuals that believe in your project and that are passionate about their craft and filmmaking.
