What was the inspiration behind making this short film?
I was inspired by the creative dimension of the writer and how the characters were developed to portray the subliminal symbolism of the story within a short space of time.
Was there any particular challenges you had to go through to make the short film happen?
Funding was a challenge given that this project was my second movie. I needed to produce something meaningful and fit for purpose even on a very low budget to get my name out there.
How has the short film been received?
It was well received even though there wasn’t enough financial backing to market and push it out on a global platform. It did receive film festival nominations in the United States.
Do you have any other projects in the pipeline?
I have three feature films in development and one that has recently completed post production. Now that we have the easing of the Covid lockdown, we are good to move forward on these projects
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to make their first short film?
Stay focused and make sure your project is relevant. No point rushing to production if you have no target audience or baseline. Take your time to research on the genre, distribution, marketing and especially the audience you will to attract Make sure to capture their followings beforehand using mini clips about the project whilst you’re making it and be clear how you intend to take your work to the market before you complete. Look for partners and mentors to support you.
